Police listed a domestic disturbance call as “report taken” for a call received at 8:44 p.m. March 22, but had no more information in the log about the death of Sherri Sweet at her home on Brattle Street.
Sweet was declared dead of a gunshot wound the next day and her boyfriend, Jeremiah Godfrey, was arrested and charged with murder March 26. (https://southberwickreporter.org/2025/03/30/tragic-brattle-street-shooting-ends-in-death-and-arrest/).
During the period of March 10 to March 23, the South Berwick Police Department logs also reported three other domestic disturbance calls, two listed as unfounded; three arrests; 127 motor vehicle stops; and five accidents.
The log states “peace restored” after a domestic disturbance call on March 17 at 5:11 pm at a York Woods Road residence
Lt. Scott Stephens provided information on the three arrests. A 32-year-old male from South Berwick was arrested on Springtree Lane March 10 at 7:48 p.m. on a charge of violating conditions of release; a 29-year-old male from Dover was charged with “failure to register a vehicle greater than 150 days” on March 13 at 9:54 a.m. during a motor vehicle stop near Portland and Highland streets; and a 56 -year-old male from South Berwick was charged with criminal mischief after a disturbance call from an Old South Road residence on March 22 at 11:25 a.m., Stephens said.
Five accidents were logged during this period with no injuries reported:

- March 12, 7:17 p.m., near South Berwick House of Pizza on Main Street
- March 14, 3:56 a.m., near Marshwood High School on Route 236
- March 14, 5:43 a.m., on Route 236
