Police log four arrests, 163 vehicle stops and eight accidents May 18-31

The police log for May 18-31 included two arrests during motor vehicle stops, one arrest during an accident, and one arrest of a juvenile for domestic violence assault.

Deputy Chief Scott Stephens provided the following information on arrests, a missing person report and a juvenile runaway.

Arrests:

  • May 18, 9:17 a.m., a male juvenile from South Berwick was charged with domestic violence aggravated assault and assault, on Tamarack Road.
  • May 20, 10:58 p.m., a 42-year old male from Farmington, N.H., was charged with operating without a valid license, attaching false plates, and being a fugitive from justice on a New Hampshire warrant for second degree assault during a motor vehicle stop near Colcord and Main streets.
  • May 21, 12:06 p.m., a 34-year old female from York was charged with operating with a suspended registration during a motor vehicle accident near Portland Street and Highland Avenue.
  • May 28, 1:12 p.m., an 18-year old female from South Berwick was charged with operating with a suspended registration during a motor vehicle stop on Main Street.

The report of a missing person from Meadow Pond Road on May 19, 8:57 p.m., was the result of a child leaving their bedroom to sleep in a different bed at the house, according to Stephens.

A juvenile runaway from a York Woods Road residence on May 22, 3:45 p.m., involved a teenager who left the house after an argument with parents. The juvenile was located at a friend’s house, Stephens said

There were eight vehicle accidents, with no injuries reported:  

  • May 18, 3:46 p.m., near Hooper Sands Road and Hat Trick Lane
  • May 19, 6:18 p.m., Old Mill Road
  • May 21, 12:06 p.m., near Portland Street and Highland Avenue (1 arrest)
  • May 22, 7:27 a.m., near the Counting House and Liberty Street
  • May 22, 11:20 a.m., near Waterside Lane and Dover Eliot Road
  • May 27, 1:09 p.m., near Main Street and Route 236
  • May 27, 9:20 p.m. near Marshwood High School and Route 236
  • May 29, 12:03 p.m.,  Portland Street
