Vernal Pool Walk with GWRLT

Join Maine Master Naturalists, Linda Littlefield Grenfell and Kerry Peiser for a guided vernal pool exploration of Tatnic Woods Preserve. Learn about the rich hidden life in the high concentration of vernal pools nestled in this special landscape. Vernal pools are seasonal pools of water that provide habitat for frogs, salamanders, fairy shrimp, turtles and more. This is an excellent hike for families with young children – the distances are short and finding little critters is pretty exciting! Registration required.
