Six drivers arrested during 218 vehicle stops May 4-17

South Berwick police arrested six drivers and issued 191 warnings during 218 motor vehicle stops between May 4 and May 17.

Deputy Chief Scott Stephens provided charge information on the following arrests:

  • May 6, 7:12 a.m., a 51-year-old female from South Berwick was charged with attaching false plates near High Knoll and Quarry drives
  • May 8, 7:07 a.m., a 21-year-old male from Berwick was charged with operating with a suspended registration on Route 236
  • May 12, 10:36 a.m., a 27-year-old female from Berwick was charged with operating with a suspended registration on Lower Main Street
  • May 12, 1:19 p.m., a 35-year-old female from Dover was charged with operating without a valid license on Portland Street
  • May 12, 4:42 p.m., a 44-year-old male from Lebanon was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an operating with a suspended registration charge near the Counting House and Liberty Street
  • May 15, 4:41 p.m., a 25-year old male from Somersworth was arrested for failure to appear on an operating without a valid license charge near Portland and Bittersweet streets

A terrorizing/threatening log listing on Hooper Sands Road concerned a voicemail message from an unknown caller, Stephens said.

During this period there were seven accidents, with no injuries reported:

  • May 5, 4:13 a.m., Main Street
  • May 5, 10:50 a.m., near the Counting House and Liberty Street
  • May 7, 8:47 a.m., Academy Street
  • May 10, 4:07 p.m., Academy Street
  • May 11, 2:34 p.m., near Marshwood High School and Route 236
  • May 12, 7:06 a.m., near Marshwood High School and Route 236
  • May 15, 4:42 p.m., Main Street
