Second coffee chat Feb. 28 with Councilor Martin

Joel Marin will be on hand 9:30 a.m Saturday for the second in a series of coffee chats hosted by the Town Council in Town Hall. The chats, the last Saturday of each month, are open to the public.

The event is billed as “an informal conversation with your town councilors over a cup of coffee.”

Martin, a new councilor, will be in the third floor auditorium of Town Hall for the coffee. Council Vice Chair Mallory Cook and newly elected Councilor Paul Schumacher hosted the first chat in January.

“This is a relaxed, welcoming space to connect directly with the people who represent you,” according to the notice on the Town website. “Whether you’re curious about a specific project, have an idea you’d love to share, want clarity on a municipal process, or simply want to put faces to names, Coffee with Councilors is designed to make local government feel more accessible and approachable.”

Even those residents with no issues they want to address are welcome to come, according to the notice, which suggests visitors can ask questions about how the council works; share concerns or ideas; “offer kudos or a job well done” or “just stop by to listen and say hello.”

“There’s no formal agenda, just an open dialogue and genuine connection,” the Town website notes. “Every conversation helps strengthen the relationship between residents and local leadership, and every voice matters.  Everyone is welcome, and we hope to see you there.”

Martin will be purchasing the coffee.
