Police report three arrests, 154 traffic stops Jan. 26 to Feb. 8

During the period of Jan. 26 through Feb. 8, South Berwick police logs list three arrests, 154 motor vehicle stops (141 warnings, 13 court summonses, one arrest), six tickets for parking violations, and eight vehicle accidents.

According to Deputy Chief Scott Stephens arrests included:

  • A 38-year-old female from North Berwick, charged with operating under the influence on Jan. 27, 8:38 p.m., during a vehicle crash near Hooper Sands and Knight’s Pond roads.
  • A 28-year-old male from Harrison, charged with operating without a valid license on Jan. 31, 1:11 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop on Main Street near Central School.
  • A 41-year-old female from South Berwick, charged with operating under the influence during a disturbance on Mill Stream Lane on Jan. 31, 10:08 p.m.

Police officers responded to an assault in progress on Academy Street on Feb. 2, 12:35 p.m., and determined there was not enough evidence to warrant charges, Stephens said.

He also noted there were no charges related to a terrorizing/threatening call on Jan. 20, 3:46 p.m., on Crescent Court. “The victim reported an incident with another individual, and wanted it documented,” Stephens said.

Eight vehicle accidents were logged during the two-week period, with no injuries reported.
