The MSAD35 school board will hold a workshop at 6 p.m. this Wednesday, Dec. 17, to decide the process, timeline and content it wants to use in its search for a replacement for Superintendent John Caverly, who resigned from the position in October. Members of the public may attend the workshop.
Board Chair Joe Long said previously the board hoped to be ready to post the position in January, 2026.
The board will also meet at 5:30 p.m., Dec. 17, with local state Reps. Tiffany Roberts and Michele Meyer, according to Heidi Early-Hersey, interim superintendent. School officials want to “get any updates they may have and to share thoughts we have about how their legislative work might support the schools,” said Early-Hersey.
At the regular 7 p.m. meeting following the workshops, the board will take action on the 2026-27 Marshwood district calendar; and discuss a proposal for a group of Marshwood High School students to travel to Denmark and a proposal for the Marshwood ski team to travel overnight to the state championships in February.
