South Berwick VFW Memorial Post 5744 will preside over a commemorative service at which Town Council Chair Mallory Cook will read an official proclamation declaring South Berwick a Purple Heart community. The event will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Town Hall auditorium. The public is invited to attend to honor military veterans past and present.
