A celebration to officially name the wrestling room at Marshwood High School the Matt Rix Wrestling Center will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, in the MHS Auditorium. The event to honor the legendary and beloved district coach is open to the public.
The RSU35 Board of Directors agreed in May to name the room after Rix, a 1981 graduate of Marshwood High School whose record as coach from 1985 to 2018 included 624 wins to 129 losses and a legacy of championship titles for his team.
