Police log 103 vehicle stops, one arrest between Nov. 17-30

Six vehicle crashes and 103 vehicle stops that resulted in one arrest and 82 warnings were reported by South Berwick police between Nov. 17 and Nov. 30.

On Nov. 23, 2:11 p.m. a 56-year-old male from South Berwick was arrested on Berwick Road and charged with operating a vehicle after suspension, according to Deputy Chief Scott Stephens.  

Responding to a suspicious item call on Nov. 25, 10:15 a.m., police found an Amazon shipping container on Belle Marsh Road. It appeared to have fallen out of an Amazon delivery van, Stephens said. Amazon was notified of the incident and made arrangements to pick it up.

A missing person call logged on Nov. 27, 5:28 a.m., was resolved after contact was made with the individual of concern.

There were six motor vehicle accidents, with no injuries reported:

  • Nov. 19, 1:32 p.m., near Marshwood High School and Route 236
  • Nov. 20, 6:22 p.m., near Route 236 and Old South Road
  • Nov. 21, 4:53 p.m., near Route 236 and Quarry Road
  • Nov. 22, 5:20 p.m., on Route 236 near Village Motor
  • Nov. 23, 4:36 p.m., near Route 236 and York Woods Road
  • Nov. 27, 10:17 p.m., on Dennett Road
